Reach Out

San Bernardino, CA
Executive Director: Diana Fox
Co-investor: Weingart Foundation

The Student Assistance Program is one of several programs that Reach Out offers for “opportunity youth” and their families.

SAP provides focused services to diverse students and their parents who are in need of early interventions for substance abuse, mental health, academic, emotional and social issues. SAP aims to minimize barriers to learning, supports students in developing academic and personal successes, and shortens the duration of untreated mental illnesses.  Teachers, parents, law enforcement, and child welfare officials refer youth to the program who have academic and social challenges and/or have exhibited risky behaviors.  Reach Out’s youth leadership programs teach strong character, perseverance, teamwork, conflict resolution and creativity.
