Cultivating Organizational Change: Post-Program Findings for the First Two Cohorts of PropelNext

A new report examining the first two PropelNext cohorts at an organizational level finds that the initiative “has provided a solid foundation for learning as organizations continue to strengthen their capacities across various functions and organizational domains”– a finding consistent with previous evaluation reports.

Engage R+D partnered with PropelNext to assess the progress of the National 2015 Cohort and the California 2018 Cohort after completing the program. Both cohorts strengthened their organizational capacity and made significant gains in strengthening their capacity to implement services based on codified program models.

As part of their assessment, the evaluators noted that cultivating a learning culture and embedding performance management practices in organizational DNA take time, and that sustaining progress requires work and commitment. As one leader from the California 2018 Cohort said, “This isn’t something that comes to an end. This is the beginning of what lies ahead.”
